About Kansas City Zone
Kansas City Zone is a free community service.
Since 2014, Kansas City Zone has helped connect people with useful local information, community resources, and services throughout the Kansas City area.
Over the years, this website has grown into much more than originally planned. What started as a simple effort to share helpful information became a collection of resources used by people looking for assistance, local information, and community connections.
Keeping information accurate and useful takes time. As Kansas City Zone continues, the focus is on doing fewer things better — maintaining quality resources, keeping important information current, and making sure visitors can find what they need.
Kansas City Zone works together with its sister sites to provide helpful information in the areas they serve. A more focused approach helps keep resources organized, updated, and easier to use.

Founder & Owner

Shawn
Shawn is responsible for the writing, organization, design, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps Kansas City Zone running. From creating content to maintaining the many details that make a website useful, he enjoys turning information into something people can actually use.
When not working on websites, he can usually be found experimenting with layouts, searching for the perfect hot chocolate, or reminding Garfield that communications strategy requires occasional communication.
Communications Director

Garfield 🐾
Garfield has been with us since 2018. He specializes in deep thinking, advanced relaxation techniques, and maintaining a calm presence during stressful situations.
Although he rarely answers the phone and almost never responds to emails, visitors consistently appreciate his professionalism, self-control, and undeniable cat-like expertise.
Garfield believes that if you do not like having a cat as Communications Director, it is only because you did not think of it first. 😸
